Sinners (2025) | Movie Review | Ryan Coogler

Ryan Coogler’s Sinners is a bold, genre-bending horror film that blends satire, spiritual reckoning, and surreal Southern Gothic vibes. I saw it with The Cinema Club at Denver’s historic Mayan Theatre, and it was the perfect venue for a film this rich in symbolism and soul.

In my review, I explore how the film tackles cultural appropriation, Black spirituality, and identity through a story that’s as unpredictable as it is powerful. With standout performances, especially from Delroy Lindo, and a visual style that shifts between grounded realism and theatrical flair, Sinners left a lasting impression.
